First part is Windows operating system characters support, two options available - first is to select your local country version in Windows installation (this option will load Windows in your local language and automatically enables characters entering support in Dexterity); second is to enable foreign language in Windows Language support (in control panel). Second part is installing MS SQL Server with local language collateral support. If you are planning to host all your Great Plains companies on the same server in USA, you have to change collaterals for foreign companyDatabase manually

Games are playable once paid for with a credit card or PayPal, and after the desktop client has downloaded the content. No need to keep a game disc in your optical drive, no need to jump through copy-protection hoops.

Throughout it’s entire existence, Steam has been Windows-exclusive. Linux enthusiasts have gotten some of the games to work on their favorite build, and of course Mac users get BootCamp to run Windows on their computers. But Valve’s lucrative gaming ecosystem has been officially a Windows PC project.

Bringing Steam to Mac OS X involves certain obstacles, from a development point of view. Most of the games available on the catalog don’t have a Mac version, especially older games that originally ran on DOS. But since Apple’s PCs use the same hardware as Windows PCs, I don’t think Valve will have too much trouble, especially if Apple has started taking Valve seriously. A good number of games already have Mac counterparts/work on a Mac anyway.

No one doubts that the iPhone was the first gadget with these kind of gestures—or at least was the first device to popularize them (and for the US market at that). But Popular Science figures that Apple’s lawsuit is preparation for an eventual showdown with Google over its Android OS, another mobile platform that relies heavily on touch gesture controls.

Bottom line: Apple’s got a problem with Google’s Android, its strongest smartphone rival. While Windows Mobile phones are included in the suit, the majority of the disputed infringements are found in HTC’s numerous Android phones, from the original G1 to their current offerings.

It would be reasonable to assume that Apple’s suit is all about a piece of the action. Companies file lawsuits against competitors, not necessarily to punish them for violating patents. The point is mostly to negotiate cross-licensing swap deals, where companies exchange technologies and promise to stay away from the courts.

But Apple’s lawsuit seems more serious than that, based on the following Steve Jobs’ quote. Or is this just PR posturing?

“We can sit by and watch competitors steal our patented inventions, or we can do something about it. We’ve decided to do something about it… We think competition is healthy, but competitors should create their own original technology, not steal ours.”

Some observers have lamented Apple’s stance as another example of patent-trolling, where a company seeks to profit from the work of others. HTC and Android OS devices in general do take a cue or two from the interface of the iPhone OS. Penjelasan Ditindih Hantu

Pernahkah anda merasa seperti tertindih sesuatu yang sangat berat, dicekik, dada sesak, tak mampu bergerak maupun berteriak, saat menjelang atau bangun tidur? Dalam istilah kesehatan disebut sleep paralysis.

Ini merupakan kondisi ketika orang akan tidur atau bangun tidur merasa sesak napas seperti dicekik, dada sesak, badan sulit bergerak, berteriak pun tidak mampu. Kejadian ini biasanya disertai halusinasi, yaitu seperti melihat sosok di sekitar tempat tidur, dan dapat berlangsung dalam hitungan detik hingga menit.

Fenomena ini kerap dikaitkan dengan hal mistis. Sebab, bentuk halusinasi yang muncul bisa menyerupai sosok sahabat, kerabat yang telah meninggal, bayangan hitam, atau hantu, tergantung latar belakang kebudayaannya.

Di Barat, fenomena ini sering disebut mimpi buruk inkubus atau old hag berdasarkan bentuk bayangan yang muncul. Ada pula yang melaporkan melihat agen rahasia asing atau alien. Pada banyak lukisan abad pertengahan dapat kita lihat sosok roh jahat menduduki dada seorang perempuan, sehingga ia dalam ketakutannya merasa sulit bernapas.

Malafungsi tidur

"Tindihan paling sering terjadi pada orang yang kurang tidur. Bisa juga dipicu oleh kelelahan, stres, cemas berlebihan," kata Dr. Andreas Prasadja, RPSGT, sleep technologist dari Sleep Disorder Clinic, RS Mitra Kemayoran.

Seorang peneliti sleep paralysis, Al Cheyne dari University of Waterloo berpendapat, sleep paralysis adalah sejenis halusinasi karena adanya malafungsi tidur dari tahap rapid eye movement (REM).

Dijelaskan Dr. Andreas, tidur dibagi menjadi beberapa tahap berdasarkan gelombang otak, yaitu tahap N1, N2, N3, dan R. Urutan tidur biasanya dimulai dari N1-N2-N3-kembali ke N2-R-kembali ke N2-N3-kembali ke N2-R-kembali ke N2-N3 dan seterusnya.

N1 adalah tahap tidur paling ringan, sering kita masih setengah sadar. N2 merupakan tahap tidur yang lebih dalam, sedangkan N3 paling dalam. R adalah REM. Pada tahap ini mimpi terjadi.

Gelombang otak mimpi mempunyai frekuensi mirip gelombang otak sadar. Ini menjelaskan kenapa orang bisa merasa berada dalam alam kesadaran lain ketika bermimpi.

Kondisi tubuh terlalu lelah atau kurang tidur sering membuat gelombang otak tidak mengikuti tahapan tidur yang seharusnya. Dari sadar ke N1 lalu melompat ke R (mimpi). Yang khas pada mimpi ini timbul halusinasi munculnya sosok lain dan lumpuh (paralysis), sehingga tubuh tidak dapat bergerak atau mulut kelu.

Posisi telentang

Tindihan dapat terjadi pada pria dan wanita. Usia rata-rata orang mengalami tindihan pertama kali 14-17 tahun. Diperkirakan setiap orang pernah mengalami tindihan setidaknya sekali atau dua kali dalam hidupnya. Tindihan dapat disebabkan hal yang tidak dapat dikontrol hingga memicu stres dan terbawa dalam mimpi.

Kondisi lingkungan kerja juga berpengaruh. Contohnya, mereka yang bekerja dalam shift lalu kekurangan tidur dan memiliki pola tidur yang tidak teratur. Juga sering terjadi pada individu yang tidur dalam posisi telentang, wajah menghadap ke atas dan hampir nyenyak atau dalam keadaan hampir terjaga dari tidur. Karena itu, mengubah posisi tidur dapat mengurangi risiko terserang tindihan.

Tindihan bisa muncul pada penderita sleep apnea walaupun jarang karena selalu berada dalam kondisi kurang tidur akibat henti napas. Kurang tidur inilah yang memicu tindihan.

Gejala depresi

Meski biasa terjadi, tindihan patut diwaspai karena bisa merupakan gejala penyakit, misalnya narcolepsy, sleep apnea, kecemasan, depresi, atau kurang tidur. Ada baiknya penderita membuat catatan mengenai pola tidurnya selama beberapa minggu, untuk membantu mengetahui penyebab tindihan.

Setelah mengetahui faktor pemicu, cara ideal menghalaunya tentu menghindari pemicu. Jika tindihan sebagai akibat terlalu lelah, coba lebih banyak beristirahat. Usahakan tidur 8-10 jam pada jam yang sama setiap malam.

Jika tindihan disertai gejala lain, ada baiknya segera ke dokter ahli tidur atau laboratorium tidur untuk diperiksa lebih lanjut. Catatan yang sudah dibuat akan sangat membantu ketika penderita memeriksakan diri ke dokter.

Dokter perlu mengetahui kapan tindihan dimulai dan sudah berlangsung berapa lama. Juga jenis obat yang pernah atau sedang digunakan. Orang yang susah tidur bisa diberi obat penenang untuk mempermudah tidurnya.

"Kurang tidur tidak boleh dianggap remeh. Jika sudah menimbulkan sleep paralysis, kondisinya berarti sudah terlalu berat. Itu membutuhkan evaluasi diri dan cukupi kebutuhan tidur.

Kesimpulan dan saran saya:
1. Ternyata tindihan saat tidur itu bukan karena ditindih setan, melainkan sesuatu yang disebabkan oleh sebab-sebab tertentu.
2. Seperti yang Rasulullah SAW katakan, sebaiknya kita tidur itu miring ke kanan. Secara nalar kita bisa bayangkan bahwa jantung berada di sebelah kiri rongga dada, jadi jangan miring ke kiri. Dulu juga pernah menjaadi bahan penelitian seorang dokter, bahwa tidur dengan posisi miring ke kanan lebih baik menjaga kesehatan.

Samudra Raksasa di Bumi

Ketika ilmuwan memayar (scan) di kedalaman bagian dalam bumi menemukan sebuah waduk raksasa di bawah Asia Timur, volume air di dalamnya setara dengan jumlah air di lautan Antartika atau lautan kutub utara. Yang tampak di sisi kiri gambar atas adalah sebuah gambar bidang singgung gambar sebelah kanan, menampakkan ketidaknormalan atenuasi (pelemahan) gelombang kejut dalam mesofer di kedalaman 620 mil di bawah tanah. Di antara kedua gambar tersebut, warna merah menerangkan lapisan batuan yang luar biasa lemah dan gembur, dan dianggap bagian dalamnya banyak mengandung air, sedangkan warna biru menerangkan batuan yang luar biasa keras (warna putih dan kuning terletak di tengah-tengah)

Untuk pertama kalinya manusia menemukan sistem air raksasa di mesosfer bagian dalam.

Menurut laporan life science com, bahwa ketika memayar di kedalaman bagian dalam bumi, ilmuwan menemukan sebuah waduk raksasa di bawah Asia Timur, volume air di dalamnya setara dengan jumlah air di lautan Antartika atau lautan Kutub Utara. Ini adalah kali pertamanya manusia menemukan sebuah sistem air raksasa di mesofer bagian dalam.

Temuan ini adalah hasil penelitian bersama ahli geologi dari Universitas Washington yakni Michael Wysession dengan Jesse Lawrence, mahasiswanya dari Universitas California, dan temuan ini akan dipublikasikan di monograf terbitan lembaga geofisika Amerika. Mereka berdua telah mengalisis bersama grafik gelombang kejut sebanyak hampir 600.000 bagian (catatan gelombang kejut yang muncul ketika gempa bumi melintasi bumi, dikumpulkan dari peralatan yang tersebar di berbagai daerah di dunia).

Mereka mendapati, bahwa gelombang gempa di bawah daratan Asia memperlihatkan fenomena yang lemah, selain itu kecepatannya juga sedikit melamban, Wysession mengatakan : “Air dapat memperlambat kecepatan gelombang gempa, sejumlah besar tanda-tanda melamban dan melemahnya hal tersebut dapat memprediksi di mana terdapat air.”

Menurut perhitungan sebelumnya, bahwa ketika lapisan batuan dingin tenggelam ke dalam mesofer di bawah tanah sedalam ribuan km, suhu tinggi di kedalaman bawah tanah akan mengeluarkan uap air dalam lapisan batu tersebut.

Wysession menuturkan : “Itulah yang akan kami tunjukkan di sini, air dalam lapisan batuan tersebut tenggelam bersama lapisan batuan dasar laut dan air itu sangat dingin, namun seiring dengan membesarnya tingkat kedalaman, suhu akan mulai naik, dan lapisan batuan mulai tidak stabil, dan kehilangan air yang terkandung di dalamnya.” kemudian air mulai naik dan masuk ke daerah timbunan, dan di sana menjadi daerah jenuh air, namun di sana sekilas tampak tetap seperti lapisan batuan padat, dan hanya dengan meletakkannya dalam laboratorium Anda baru dapat menemukan air di dalamnya.”

Meski sekilas mereka tampak seperti batuan padat, sebanyak 15 % dalam beberapa batuan dasar laut adalah air. Wysession menuturkan: “Konkretnya, air berada dalam struktur mineral batuan. Ketika Anda memanaskannya, ia akan menghilangkan air, sama seperti Anda membakar sepotong tanah liat, bisa menghilangkan semua air di dalamnya.”

Peneliti memprediksikan, bahwa di daerah-daerah permukaan bumi yang diselimuti air, cukup 0.1 % lapisan batuan tenggelam ke dalam mesofer sudah bisa menghasilkan volume air yang setara dengan satu lautan Kutub Utara.

Wysession menamakan struktur bawah tanah yang baru ini sebagai “Beijing abnormal”, sebab ia ditemukan di bawah Kota Beijing, China, yang nilai resesi gelombang gempanya terbesar.

Pertama kali Wysession memakai istilah ini dalam sebuah penjelasannya di Universitas Beijing.

Menurut Wysession : “Mereka merasa sangat menarik, ancaman gempa bumi China jauh lebih besar dibanding daerah lain di dunia, karena itu mereka sangat tertarik pada seismologi.”

Sebanyak 70% permukaan bumi ditutupi oleh air, air-air ini memiliki banyak manfaatnya, satu di antaranya adalah memainkan peranan “pelicin” bagi pergerakan lempeng daratan.

Coba lihat Venus kita, di mana menurut Wysession, bagian dalamnya sangat panas dan ekstrem kering, ia tidak memiliki struktur lempeng, semua air yang ada mungkin telah di-evaporasi (menguap), tidak ada lempeng, dan seluruh sistemnya ditutup. (Sumber Secret China)

Pada pagi hari,tepatnya 1 September 1859, salah seorang astronom terkenal di Inggris Richard Carrington tengah mengamati matahari. Dengan menggunakan alat filter, dia mempelajari permukaan matahari melalui teleskopnya. Namun, dia begitu terperanjat saat mengetahui ada kilatan cahaya terang keluar dari permukaan matahari. Tanpa diketahuinya, pada hari itu telah terjadi badai matahari yang diprediksikan dunia akan terulang kembali pada 1 September 2012.

Melansir pemberitaan Daily Mail, Selasa (21/4) dikisahkan Carrington mencatat titik cahaya terang yang merupakan awan plasma menuju ke bumi. Sekitar 48 jam kemudian dampaknya mulai terasa luar biasa. Miliaran aurora menyinari langit malam di bumi. Cahayanya sungguh kuat sehingga membuat kita mampu membaca di tengah malam.

Sementara itu, di California, sekelompok pekerja tambang emas bangun lebih awal dari biasanya akibat cahaya terang yang mereka sangka sudah pagi hari. Padahal jam di saat itu menunjukkan pukul 2 dini hari. Sejumlah operator telegraf menerima kejutan listrik tak beraturan akibat arus listrik matahari menghantam jaringan telekomunikasi. Saat itu dunia seakan-akan bermandikan listrik.

Menurut laporan "New Scientist", badai matahari atau solar storm adalah siklus kegiatan peledakan dahsyat dari masa puncak kegiatan bintik matahari (sunspot), biasanya setiap 11 tahun akan memasuki periode aktivitas badai matahari.

Ilmuwan Amerika baru-baru ini memperingatkan bahwa pada tahun 2012 bumi akan mengalami badai matahari dahsyat (Solar Blast), daya rusaknya akan jauh lebih besar dari badai angin "Katrina", dan hampir semua manusia di bumi tidak akan dapat melepaskan diri dari dampak bencananya.

Daniel Becker dari University of Colorado seorang ahli cuaca angkasa menjelaskan, "Sekarang ini kita semakin dekat dengan kemungkinan bencana ini. Jika manusia tidak dapat mempersiapkan diri dengan matang terhadap bencana badai matahari yang akan menimpa ini. Badai matahari ini mungkin akan memutuskan pasokan listrik umat manusia, sinyal ponsel, bahkan termasuk sistem pasokan air."

Badai Matahari Kuat pada 2012 akan Menyerang

Pada 22 September 2012 tengah malam, langit New York, Manhattan Amerika Serikat akan tertutupi oleh seberkas layar cahaya yang warna-warni.Di wilayah selatan New York ini, sangat sedikit orang yang dapat melihat fenomena aurora ini. Namun, perasaan menikmati indahnya pemandangan alam ini tidak akan berlangsung lama. Setelah beberapa detik, semua bola lampu listrik di wilayah tersebut mulai gelap dan berkedip tak menentu, kemudian sinar cahayanya dalam seketika tiba-tiba bertambah terang, dan cahaya bola lampu menjadi luar biasa terang. Selanjutnya, semua lampu mati. 90 detik kemudian, seluruh bagian Timur Amerika Serikat akan mengalami pemadaman listrik. Setahun kemudian, jutaan orang Amerika mulai mati, infrastruktur negara akan menjadi timbunan puing. Bank Dunia akan mengumumkan Amerika berubah menjadi negara berkembang. Pada saat yang sama, Eropa, China dan Jepang dan daerah lain atau negara juga akan sama seperti Amerika Serikat, berjuang dalam bencana sekali ini. bencana ini datang dari badai matahari atau solar storm yang dahsyat, terjadi pada permukaan matahari yang berjarak 150 juta km dari bumi.

Alat Deteksi Amerika Berhasil Mengambil Foto Badai Matahari

Mungkin cerita di atas kedengarannya mustahil, dalam keadaan normal matahari tidak akan bisa menyebabkan bencana besar seperti itu pada bumi. Namun, laporan khusus yang dikeluarkan oleh National Academy of Sciences, Amerika Serikat pada bulan Januari 2009 menyatakan bahwa bencana seperti ini sangat mungkin bisa terjadi. Studi tersebut disponsori oleh NASA. Dalam beberapa dekade, dalam perkembangan masyarakat manusia, peradaban Barat telah menanamkan bibit-bibit untuk kehancuran mereka sendiri. Cara hidup modern secara berlebihan yang sangat tergantung pada ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi, secara tidak sengaja membuat kita lebih banyak terperangkap dalam suatu kondisi yang super berbahaya. Ketika badai matahari kuat menyerang, umat manusia di bumi akan menghadapi dua masalah besar. Pertama, adalah tentang masalah jaringan listrik modern sekarang. Backer mengatakan bahwa sekarang ini kita masih tidak dapat memprediksi secara akurat waktu dan kekuatan badai matahari, yang dapat diprediksi oleh saya dan rekan saya hanya jika sebuah badai matahari besar menyerang, kami secara mutlak tidak mampu menanganinya.”

Dalam masalah dampak bahaya badai matahari, lebih dari satu abad, orang-orang terus memantau kegiatan sunspot.

Berdasarkan fenomena yang terjadi di atas permukaan matahari serta data bintik matahari siklus yang terjadi sebelumnya, para ilmuwan dari National Center for Atmospheric Research, NCAR, Amerika Serikat, berhasil mengembangkan sebuah model baru ilmu dinamika solar. Dengan model baru, para astronom dapat memberikan peringatan secara dini dari aktivitas sunspot matahari. Mereka berharap bahwa peringatan dini dapat membantu perusahaan-perusahaan listrik, para pengendali satelit dan aspek lainnya dalam beberapa hari atau bahkan tahun-tahun sebelumnya agar bisa bersiap-siap menghadapai kegiatan sunspot matahari. Menurut informasi, ketepatan model baru ini dapat mencapai akurasi 98%.
